A new Beginning [p]

It was time to start on something new, Kirei had mastered all of his tails in the first version, and it was time to draw them out in their second version. He had only been in the second version one time, with only a single tail. But, he knew he would be able to replicate such an incident with far greater success, so he drew out his other tails and started training. First, he took to the jungle, running laps at full speed at what most his age would not be able to see. He was far superior to most children his age, having technically become a genin at the age of six, he had surpassed most that were considered prodigies due to their graduation age by a few years. He stopped running after having hit the fifty mile mark, and started doing various physical exercises. Pushups, sit ups, punching trees and practicing the control of all nine of his tails at once was quite the workout, but he was getting it done only so he could fulfill his promise to the kyuubi and grant it, the freedom, at least within its seal, that it deserved.

He wove in and out of tree branches as he took to the canopies of the jungle. He dodged various traps that Matsuda had at one time laid out for him, such as falling logs, kunai or shuriken launchers and even a few seals designed to launch jutsu based on proximity. All in all, it was far easier than it had been at less tails, and he could feel himself pushing more chakra out than he had before, he was keeping up far better than he used to. He needed to push himself more, go that extra mile, but when would he ever be ready to get the control over this chakra that he so needed for this to work? Grunting at his own failings to get it down, he felt a surge of anger rush through his system like an electric current. His tenketsu pumped out more and more of the demonic chakra, it seemed that negative emotions where the key to draw out the Kyuubi's chakra, but he was sure it was just some desperate attempt for the beast to manipulate him. It wouldn't work. He stopped to focus and force the chakra to simply assimilate into his own cloak, his skin seemed to burn away as a deep red cloak appeared with a single tail swishing behind it. IT felt far more potent than his last transformation.

He moved about the course with a newly gained vigor, rushing in between trees and knocking them out of the way as he approached. His new form being far more dense, caused the ground to shudder at his approach. When he moved, he sometimes caused bullets of pressurized air to fire off, taking down lines of trees. He was able to feel such a difference even with just the first tail active, that it was such an intense change. He wondered what Matsuda would think of him now, or even his own mother, whom he had yet to hear from after all this time on the island. Obviously his sensei knew her, but were they close? He had no real way of knowing. But, he was sure that all of his questions would be answered when he returned to the village as one of their most powerful assets. But, he planned to rise above the stereotype of simply a weapon for his village, and make himself and Kurama into partners, rivalling the Inuzuka and their ninken.

Thinking of his sensei brought something of a smile to his face.The man had caused him to begin opening up, his life going on display. He had learned many things, and improved greatly, in just the few weeks they had been together, Karasu had broken down the barriers that he spent his entire life building up. Is that why they sent that man? To make him attached to someone within the village? To keep him under their control? Was his mother in on all of this? Was he being paranoid? Probably. He may have been on this island too long, but he knew his job wasn't done. He was many things, but a quitter he was not. He was as stubborn as they come and he had a promise to uphold now. He would keep it til his dying breath too. Looking at the sun, he would deactivate his cloak. It was time to head back to the home he had been living in for over a year. He couldn't believe it had been that long, but he also couldn't really fathom the leap in power he had taken since he got there to begin training, it was really quite incredible. He was excited to get back to Konoha to show off his strength.

Kirei released his transformation, his sensei signaling him that it was time to rest before another early day of training tomorrow. So, he grabbed his tools and went to fix the obstacle course back up. Then Matsuda goes back through and tweaks it, making it more difficult and changing up the placement of things and adding new things, always evolving the course to keep it pushing his improvement. It wouldn’t be long before he was able to challenge Matsuda, especially given his current rate of improvement. But, it was still early on in their training and his replacement wasn’t set to come until a year or more had passed, so he would keep pushing Kirei harder than he had ever been pushed before. His goal is to get Kirei to as high a level as possible before his next sensei came in. He wasn’t sure who they picked, but apparently someone who may have a more personal connection than even he did. So, that was a plus. He still had one important jutsu to pass on, but it would take time to get even Kirei to the level needed for that jutsu. But, he was sure that they would reach it before the year is out.
