Team 2: Chuunin Exams (1st Part) Empty
PostSubject: Team 2: Chuunin Exams (1st Part)   Team 2: Chuunin Exams (1st Part) EmptyWed Dec 20, 2017 11:42 am

This was his first chuunin exam and he was tense; even though he was probably the oldest contestant. Really, a 20 year old genin? But he had his story and there was good reason for that. Nevertheless, he walked through the stadium, followed the signs and the directions until finally he arrived along with other fellow genins. This was also his first time in a foreign land, so that too was contributing slightly to his nervousness. Although nervous, his resolve remained undeterred. He was here to do his best and become a chuunin and that’s exactly what he was going to do.

He would notice a few tables and a hall set just like a lecture hall. Along with the others, he would find his place behind a table and await the blue haired individual standing in front of a screen to speak. As the senior spoke and referred to everyone including Jin as “kiddo” he wondered about the seriousness of this exam. How official was this anyways if they had this kind of an informal proctor? Well, that was mostly his own personality but in this situation, he was representing kumogakure. So, the village came off a tad weird to Jin. That didn’t matter though because what came next took his entire attention and curiosity.

As instructed, Jin took a piece of paper read the instructions and then stared at the screen. He noticed he had one familiar person with him on his team: Yin Hyuuga. They had trained once before, she was a Konoha genin. That wasn’t too bad. As the teams were sent to their rooms, Jin did the same and walked to the examination hall 2 as he was supposed to.

He still held on to his paper just to make sure he hadn’t missed a detail. In the room, he would wait the arrival of his other team mates and read the paper again and again, just to be sure. Jin was dressed in his usual attire this day as well. He had his long black colored long coat on and his mask on too. But there were a few things different about him this day. His mask wasn’t the full face mask he usually wore. This one was different because it covered his face from his forehead down to his nose and then ended. His mouth was visible from this version of his white colored mask and there was a reason for that. Another different thing about his attire were the two large scrolls that he was wearing on his back. The two were tied to his back firmly around the waist in a horizontal position. And the final unusual thing about him, was the katana he was wearing on his right hand side.

He would wait for his team mates and after they would arrive he would speak. ”Hello Yin-chan, pleased to see we’re in the same team. I’ll be counting on you for this exam”, he would say greeting her and gently bowing to her. Then he would turn towards the other genin among their midst.

”Hello Mr. Voltaire, pleased to make your acquaintance. I am Jin Ota, from Konohagakure”,he would say introducing himself and bowing; ”I hope we can work together”, he would say and then wait for their responses. After the two had replied, Jin would continue.

”So, we have two things to do and time is of the essence. First thing’s first we need a spokesperson. I do not wish to be one. So you two can decide who it will be”, he would announce as he would step back and lean against the wall. The other two needed to discuss this amongst themselves first. After that was done, Jin would once more begin speaking; there was a lot to be said and a lot to be done.

”I’m sure you two have the same understanding of this thing but I’ll ask just to be sure. It doesn’t matter what we pick right? Either way, it depends on what the others do. It feels more about luck than our own skill. Doesn’t it?”, he would say looking at the two. He wondered, were they on the same page?

Team 2: Chuunin Exams (1st Part) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Team 2: Chuunin Exams (1st Part)   Team 2: Chuunin Exams (1st Part) EmptyWed Dec 20, 2017 4:19 pm

An insult and an immature act; what was next on the list to come? Yin did not like the person giving the instructions for the Chuunin exam, but she decided that for once, it was best to not speak up against him. Followed by that, someone else did, but in a far more rash way. The kid she could only know as ‘Voltaire’ from the list quickly made it known that he was dropping out from the exam.

A rather stupid move, in the mind of Yin. The fun was only just beginning, and though she unfortunately could not beat someone with a stick so far in the exam, the idea of risk filled the young girl with excitement. Why would someone quit over something so small?

An elimination process-- maybe he was simply not fit to move on in the ranks of shinobi. The redhead, however, would do her best, even if her whole reason for taking the exam was for nothing more than an ounce of something fun and new. Kumogakure was a unique place, and a nice change in scenery from the forests of the Invisible Plant Appendage village.

As she entered the examination room, Jin was the first to talk; a familiar face… er… mask. “Good to see you too, Jin-san~” the ginger chimed in a perky manner. “It seems our other teammate backed out though, so it’s just gonna be you and me.”

She listened to his full statements before continuing on, agree with what he had to say. “It is a test of luck, but it’d be no different out in a dangerous situation. We don’t know the future, but we have to do our best to survive. A game of risk, in this case… I think it’s pretty fun,” she said, giving her opinion with a cheery smile as she clapped her hands together.

“Because my name was first on the list, I’ll be your Spokesperson if you don’t mind. And I say we leave. Being a ninja is about moving forward and having the skill to do so, not staying behind in utmost caution unless its absolutely necessary. Besides, I don’t wanna be cooped up in here for much longer. It’s gloomy,” Yin proposed, adding her two cents, reasoning, and bonus thoughts. She liked risk… so why not make it riskier.

Team 2: Chuunin Exams (1st Part) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Team 2: Chuunin Exams (1st Part)   Team 2: Chuunin Exams (1st Part) EmptySun Dec 24, 2017 11:08 am

It was disappointing to see that a teammate immediately left, even before the elimination process began. As depressing as this was, Yin was brimming with energy as always. She decided that she would be the spokesperson and Jin nodded in agreement. She certainly was quite capable when it came to the art of speaking. Even the examiners would be tested if they tried to best her in a conversation.

The young Hyuuga presented some good thoughts but Jin didn’t agree with one of them and this one, he had to speak against.

”I agree that we have to make do with what we have and being a ninja does imply that we have to take the initiative. However, we have to be careful about we choose because our decisions are responsible for our lives and sometimes the lives of our teammates”, he would pause allowing his words to sink in. Obviously, he didn’t expect her to agree with him. He respected her opinion and just wanted to state his. Nevertheless, she was the spokesperson and Jin had no intention of going against her. From his point of view, it really didn’t matter what they chose. The odds were the same, even after they checked out the other teams. Though for some reason, he felt that the examiners wouldn’t let them check up on others.

Maybe he could use the sensing jutsu to check on other teams but that was pointless as the spokesperson of his team had already decided.

”Nevertheless spokesperson-chan, I’m with you. If you’ve decided that we’re leaving, then let’s do that”, Jin would say as he step forward. If she would walk out, he would do the same.

The words did sink in, but as one could expect, words were in one ear and out the other for the young teen. While deep down, she did understand the concept. However, she did not enjoy correction so much, and she was too excited-- she only wanted to get on with the exam. Decisions were fleeting, and the result could only be remembered, at least for her airheaded mind.

Perhaps they could have more fun with the exam, such as with spying or invading another room. Nobody said that they could not. However, why do that when the objective was so simple?

A wide grin on the ginger’s face, she only nodded at Jin’s words, to be polite.
“If only Mister No-Show could understand that,” she giggled, referring to the young Sunagakure Genin that dropped from the exam before it even began.

“Leaving it is, then~,”
she said happily, beginning to exit the examination room. What a gloomy corner… it truly would suck to remain in the Invisible Puffy Water village room for much water. Yes, she had a name for Kumogakure too. The place was indubiously interesting, and a lovely change of scenery for Yin. However, like with everything, she would poke fun at it for her own enjoyment.

Team 2: Chuunin Exams (1st Part) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Team 2: Chuunin Exams (1st Part)   Team 2: Chuunin Exams (1st Part) EmptyWed Dec 27, 2017 8:43 am

Making a decision was fairly easy for Team 2. As Jin had already concluded that it didn’t matter what they chose. It felt as if the exam was to ensure that only the lucky ones got through. This was the most troublesome thought for Jin as a shinobi. He simply couldn’t approve of it. A shinobi is a lot more than someone with lady luck smiling at him. Sure, luck has its perks but that is most certainly not enough at all times. Regardless, he would have to rely on Yin-chan to take the lead. For now, he was contended in doing his part. And his part was to say his piece and then follow the leader he had chosen. As a shinobi, it was important to play your role as part of a team and rely on others playing their part. Only then could they accomplish what they were assigned. With this concept in mind, Jin nodded and followed the young spokesperson.

Without even pausing to guess at what the others were thinking, their decision was spontaneous. Yin had decided that they should leave and Jin had agreed. As there was no other with a third opinion, the two had gone with it. In terms of timeline, this exchange couldn’t have possibly taken more than 5 minutes. As the conversation they had earlier than this was only a few sentences.

”Maybe I should’ve tried sensing the other teams with chakra sensing but I’m sure whatever they were doing wouldn’t change Yin-chan’s mind”, the thought crossed his mind but he discarded it immediately.

Why do it when it won’t make a difference? That would just be a waste of chakra. And who knew, maybe he would need to rely on his chakra in later parts of the exam. That is, if he did actually move on. Wait, were they about to get failed? Well, it was highly likely. At least he did what he could. Right? That’s what mattered. He had little to do anyways.

Jin follows Yin and leaves the room.
